The Department invites applications for an Associate Professorship / Assistant Professorship. Applicants should (i) have a relevant PhD degree; (ii) be dedicated to teaching; (iii) have an excellent record of research; and (iv) be an energetic person with engaging personality, and thrive on teamwork. Priority will be given to applicants who specialize in the following fields: Japanese political economy, international relations, economy, politics, management, and Sino-Japanese relations. Outstanding candidates specializing in other fields such as Japanese education, media, literature, sociology, and anthropology will also be considered. Candidates capable of inter-disciplinary, comparative, and transnational research are particularly welcome. Duties include (a) teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; (b) project coordination; and (c) mentoring students.
Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years initially commencing August 2010 or as soon as possible, which, subject to mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation later. Review of applications will begin in November 2009, and applications will be accepted until the post is filled. |
| Monthly Salary and Fringe Benefits |
Salary will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The University offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package, including medical care, plus a contract-end gratuity for an appointment of two years or longer and housing benefits for eligible appointee.
