Student Mental Health Enhancement Programme

Mental illnesses and conditions arising from the lack of mental well being have always been a significant, but often hidden, burden to our society. In addition to personal suffering, the financial losses, resulting from decrease in productivity, sick days and costs of treatment, etc, are always very high and very difficult to quantify. Our University is no exception. After a series of meetings of the University Mental Health Co-ordinating Group of the University Health Service Committee, we are going to launch a series of talks and workshops in collaboration with the Office of Student Affairs and the Personnel Office. The speakers are Professors from the University”¦s Departments of Psychiatry, Psychology and Social Work, Student Counsellors from the Office of Student Affairs and Physicians from the University Health Service (UHS).
